The Next-Generation Data Center (NGDC)
It’s not achieved by piecing together components for minimal gains.
It requires a fresh start with a new perspective for a major leap.

The achievement of a true next-generation data center (NGDC) has been the primary objective of most equipment manufacturers for well over a decade. The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) defines NGDC as a converged IP infrastructure capable of carrying a multitude of services, such as voice, video and data services, and next-generation “access” data centers.

Today, service providers have two distinct segments of service delivery: transport equipment and service equipment. However, only one is living up to the definition of Next-Generation Networking. The transport technology has been outpacing the infrastructure hardware/software platform from which services are launched and managed. What’s more, service providers are sold a myriad of technologies – we think far too many – designed to store, serve, deliver and manage the data center.

InteliCloud has been rethinking the platform from which services are delivered with the goal of:

  • Tightening relationships between components; remove bottlenecks throughout the network

  • Simplifying management of the shelf, resources and applications

  • Abstracting all hardware to remove restraints on service applications

  • Simplifying scaling

  • Increasing green attributes & ROI

  • Improving the relationship between the business and technical teams

To achieve true NGDC status, InteliCloud took to the greenfield and built the 360™ by combining standards based components for serving, storing and transporting data with proprietary hardware and software components. The result: a multi-point solution NGN platform that can serve three (3) times the customers while using 60% less power and space.
